It is a sunflower display installed on the observatory deck, timed so the flowers hit peak bloom across the school-holiday weeks. The visual is a field of sunflowers set against the Osaka city skyline, which is a rare composition in a country where most observation decks are purely architectural. The sunflower garden is free with observatory admission and does not require a separate ticket. The Sora ni Chikai Tenmon-bu, or Astronomy Club Close to the Sky, is a monthly astronomy series that runs on the observatory deck. The July 2026 session runs from 7 July to 25 July, the second of three summer sessions after the June session and before an August session. The Sky Building observatory is one of the better sunset spots in Osaka, with a 360-degree open-air deck at 173 metres that looks west over the city toward Awaji and the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge.
