About This Event / イベントについて
Ultra Heroes EXPO 2026 Umeda Summer Festival is Tsuburaya Productions' official summer tokusatsu event, returning to Umeda from August 5 to 17, 2026. The 2026 edition is double-billed: the brand-new TV series Ultraman Teo (premiering July 4 on TV Osaka's 6-station network and streaming worldwide) brings Ultraman Teo and the main cast to the live stage, while the Ultraman series 60th anniversary brings a rotating cast of legacy heroes back to Umeda.
The expo splits across two Umeda venues that are a short walk apart. The stage floor, hosting the "NEW GENERATION THE LIVE" live show and the "Ultra Shot" photo service, runs August 7 to 17 at Umeda South Hall, the basement event space beside the Umeda Sky Building. The goods floor, hosting the exhibition zone and the "Ultraman Depaato" official merchandise store, opens two days earlier on August 5 and runs through August 17 at the Hanshin Umeda Main Store 8th-floor event hall, inside the Hanshin Department Store a few minutes from JR Osaka Station.
The live stage and Ultraman Teo
The headline is the "NEW GENERATION THE LIVE" stage show, an original story performed only at the expo. Ultraman Teo — the lead of the new 2026 series — appears alongside the main cast, in choreographed suit-actor fights with pyrotechnics and an MC. The stage runs four sessions a day (09:30, 11:30, 13:30, 15:30 openings), each a complete ticketed performance with entry and exit controlled. Once a session starts you cannot re-enter the lobby, so arrive before your session's opening time.
For the 60th-anniversary celebration, a rotating lineup of legacy Ultra Heroes — including Ultraman Zero (Aug 7-12) and Ultraman Tiga Sky Type (Aug 13-17) — appears for the special "Meet the Hero" greeting, a 3-minute private audience with one hero limited to buyers of the 60th-anniversary special seat.
Tickets and seat tiers
There are no free-admission sessions and no same-day sales at the door — every stage session is reserved-seat and ticketed in advance through Lawson Tickets (L code 53574) and Asobiew!. Advance sales opened in early June, with Tsuburaya IMAGINATION premium-member pre-sales on June 4 and general sales on June 6. A single reservation can buy up to 6 tickets.
- Bench seat (¥17,000, tax in): a single bench for a group of up to 4 (3 adults, or 2 adults + 2 kids, or 1 adult + 3 kids). Includes a limited-color original tote bag and a priority Ultra Shot photo pass for that day.
- 60th-anniversary special seat (¥11,000, tax in): a single seat that includes the "Meet the Hero" 3-minute greeting, a special-edition Ultraman Teo Ultra Sign, and a limited-color tote. The hero rotates: Ultraman Zero (Aug 7-12) and Ultraman Tiga Sky Type (Aug 13-17).
- Single seat — adult (¥3,500): one reserved seat for a middle-school student or older.
- Single seat — child (¥2,800): one reserved seat for ages 3 through elementary school.
Children 2 and under are free on a lap, but need a paid seat if they use a seat. All ticket holders receive an entry bonus: a "Ultraman Card Game" PR card of Ultraman Tiga (1 card for single/special seats, 3 cards for bench seats).
The goods floor and Ultraman Depaato
The Hanshin Umeda 8F goods floor is free to enter (no ticket) and runs 10:00-20:00 (closes 17:00 on the final day, August 17). It houses the Ultraman Depaato — Tsuburaya's official merchandise store — carrying event-exclusive goods, the latest series merchandise, and the 60th-anniversary lineup. A 2026-only "Ultra Shot" photo service also operates here, where you can pose with an Ultra Hero (the appearing hero is randomized by session). The exhibition zone displays suit props and screens archival footage from 60 years of the franchise.
How to plan a visit
The two venues are an 8-minute walk apart. The most efficient pattern is to book a morning stage session at Umeda South Hall, then walk over to the Hanshin 8F goods floor afterward — the goods floor stays open until 20:00, so you can shop and eat lunch in the Hanshin depachika (basement food hall) on the way out. If you want the "Meet the Hero" 60th-anniversary experience, book a special seat and confirm which hero is scheduled for your date before buying.
The expo overlaps with the Sky Sunflower Garden on the Sky Building's rooftop observatory, the Hankyu Umeda rooftop beer garden, and the Shin-Umeda City Summer Festival (July 31), so a single August afternoon in the Umeda Sky Building area can combine a hero stage show, a 173-meter sunflower view, and a sunset beer on a department store roof.
