Historic grilled squid stall in Hanshin Snack Park since 1957.

The Hanshin Specialty Ikayaki stall is a fixture of the B1 Snack Park standing food court at Hanshin Department Store Umeda main branch, 1-13-13 Umeda, Kita Ward, Osaka. The stall has been operating since 1957 and has grown up alongside the Hanshin Department Store itself.

The stall specialises in ikayaki, a grilled squid pressed between thin dough layers into a savoury pancake. The original ikayaki (187 yen tax inclusive) is joined by variations including the negi ikayaki with spring onion (198 yen), the delaban (242 yen) and the Japanese-style delaban (253 yen). All are cooked fresh to order and meant to be eaten standing at the nearby counter.

The Snack Park offers a standing-only fast-food environment that mirrors the energy of Osaka street food inside a department-store setting, open from 10:00am to 10:00pm daily.
