Umeda Summer Sales 2026: The Cheat-Sheet Across LUCUA, Hankyu, Hanshin, and Daimaru

Umeda Summer Sales 2026: The Cheat-Sheet Across LUCUA, Hankyu, Hanshin, and Daimaru Banner for the 2026 LUCUA Osaka Summer Bargain starting 2 July across the LUCUA, LUCUA 1100, and LUCUA SOUTH buildings at Osaka Station

The Umeda summer sale season runs from late June through late July 2026, with the five main mall operators in the district starting and ending their clearance periods on slightly different dates. The LUCUA Osaka Summer Bargain opens on 2 July, Hankyu and Hanshin Umeda start their summer clearance on 26 June, Daimaru Umeda runs a ladies fashion bargain from 15 to 20 July, and Herbis ENT and Diamor Osaka run their own clearance windows. Discounts vary by store, but the headline max-off figures run from 50 to 70 percent at the mall-level banners, with selected items at up to 70 percent or more. The cheat-sheet below is what a visitor needs to plan a single afternoon or a full day across the district.

LUCUA Osaka Summer Bargain, from 2 July

The LUCUA Osaka Summer Bargain is the largest by floor count, covering all three LUCUA buildings at JR Osaka Station. The official LUCUA page lists more than 150 participating stores across LUCUA, LUCUA 1100, and LUCUA SOUTH, with discounts running from 10 to 70 percent off depending on the brand. A sample of the confirmed discount depth by store, taken directly from the LUCUA official listing:

  • Lowrys Farm et (6F) — up to 60% off
  • Urban Research Store (7F) and Lee (7F) — up to 60% off
  • Vivienne Westwood Red Label (5F) and Diesel (5F) — up to 40% off
  • Mucha (2F) — up to 50% off
  • Soffitto (3F) — up to 50% off
  • Zoff (5F) — up to 50% off
  • Climale by D-Holic (6F) — up to 70% or more
  • And dot Nostalgia (LUCUA 1100 2F) — up to 70% off
  • Titivate (LUCUA 1100 2F) — up to 40% off
  • Clarks (LUCUA 1100 7F) — up to 50% off

LUCUA is also running the Tanoshimono-ichi, a parallel limited-goods and summer event market that sits alongside the main sale. Several stores run shorter windows within the broader sale period. Lululemon (2F) runs 1 to 13 July, Journal Standard (3F) starts womens on 9 July and mens on 16 July, Vivienne Westwood Red Label starts 3 July, Fint (6F) starts 3 July, and Lupicia (8F) runs 10 to 19 July. The implication is that the sale is not a single static period; some stores start late, some end early, and the deepest discounts land in the second half of July.

Hankyu and Hanshin Umeda summer clearance, from 26 June

National summer sale roundup showing the scale of clearance discounts at major Japanese malls including Hankyu and Hanshin Umeda in July 2026

Hankyu Umeda Main Store and Hanshin Umeda run their summer clearance under the broader Hankyu Hanshin Department Stores umbrella. Per the Fashion Press national roundup, the Hankyu and Hanshin summer clearance starts on 26 June 2026. Hankyu Umeda is the upscale anchor of the two, with the sale covering the 9F event hall floors and the fashion floors. Hanshin Umeda, at the south end of the district in Osaka Umeda Twin Towers South, runs a parallel clearance with a different brand mix, stronger on food and lifestyle. The two are connected by a short underground walk.

The two department stores differ from the LUCUA model. LUCUA is a mall of brand boutiques, so discounts are set brand by brand. Hankyu and Hanshin are department stores, so the sale is structured as a storewide clearance with a single thematic framing, and the deepest discounts land on outgoing seasonal stock rather than current-season pieces. If your target is a specific brand, LUCUA is the more efficient route. If your target is a category browse across brands, Hankyu or Hanshin works better.

Daimaru Umeda ladies fashion bargain, 15 to 20 July

Ginza Six summer sale visual indicative of the wider department-store summer clearance trend that includes Daimaru Umeda in July 2026

Daimaru Umeda, directly above JR Osaka Station, runs a focused ladies fashion bargain from 15 to 20 July 2026. The window is shorter than the other Umeda operators, which makes it the tightest timed of the major sales. Daimaru is the best paired option if you are already visiting the Q-rais EXPO exhibition on 7F (15 July to 3 August) or the new B1 sweets zone that opened in March, because all three sit in the same building and can be done in a single elevator ride. The B1 food floor and the 7F exhibition are not part of the sale, but the fashion floors in between are.

Herbis ENT, Diamor Osaka, and the rest

Herbis ENT runs its HERBIS Clearance from 1 July 2026, a mid-tier discount window aimed at the office-worker and evening crowd on the west side of Umeda. Diamor Osaka, the underground mall running under Nishi-Umeda, runs a Summer Bargain from 25 June. Both are smaller than the four main operators and easier to combine with a transit pass-through than to visit as a destination. KITTE Osaka, the JP Tower mall on the old central post office site, runs its own summer sale window within the broader late-June to late-July period.

Planning a single afternoon across Umeda

The practical question is how to sequence the sales if you only have one afternoon. The answer depends on what you are shopping for. For fashion across multiple brands in one walk, LUCUA Osaka is the densest option and opens on 2 July, with the deepest discounts landing in the second half of July. For a department-store clearance experience with a single storewide framing, Hankyu or Hanshin, starting 26 June, is the better target. For a short, tightly-timed ladies fashion window, Daimaru from 15 to 20 July. For a quick pass-through on the way to something else, Herbis ENT or Diamor.

All five operators are within a 10-minute walk of each other, and all are connected directly to JR Osaka Station, Hankyu Osaka-Umeda Station, or Hanshin Osaka-Umeda Station. Tax-free shopping for tourists is available at LUCUA, Hankyu, Hanshin, and Daimaru with a passport, and the tax-free counters at each mall are signed in English and Chinese. The sales are free to enter; you only pay for what you buy.
