Umekita Park

City park on the old Umeda freight yard, north of JR Osaka. South Park lawn and fountain, North Park trees. Always open. Office 06-6136-4776, 09:00–17:30. Lawn rest days are posted.

Umekita Park is the lawn Kita actually uses. It sits on the former Umeda freight station, now the centre of Grand Green Osaka. South Park (Ofukacho 5) holds the grass, the stepped plaza, the fountain, and Rohto Heart Square under the big roof. North Park (Ofukacho 6) holds VS. museum, MIDORI LOUNGE, and more planting. The park itself is always open. Individual buildings have their own hours. Management centre: 06-6136-4776, 09:00–17:30. Paid rentals (molkky, sheets, badminton) run 10:30–19:00 from PLAT UMEKITA. Free carts on the lawn 10:00–17:00 when weather allows. Pets follow the posted park rules. Lawn closures for rest are news, not a rumour. Check umekita.com/midori/information/. JR Osaka Station is seven minutes. This is a park. Do not type it as a mall because Grand Front and the hotels sit next door.
